News for 2012

For ease of administration and to make things easier for all concerned we have changed our dates from when you require to renew your memberships and get your new key for the track.

This will take effect from January 1st 2012. The lock itself will be changed on Monday 2nd January, so that will give most people the opportunity to ride on Sunday the 1st.

Please inform your riding friends when you get the chance.

Have a happy, safe and successful year to you all.

CRMXA Executive.

We are nearly at our administration years end. Our AGM will take place on Monday 28th November at Banners starting at 7:00 pm.

On Sunday the 27th we will hold a work party at the track - if conditions are favourable. Presently as of today there is about 4 " of snow covering most of the track and facility. The work party will be to wrap up a few jobs, fencing, tidy the c-can, put stuff away and ditch any garbage. This will give the new Exec a head start on work required to get things up and running for next year.

Also this weekend we may try to finish the powder shed roof and do a few final mod's to the pump house. Our dozer needs some work doing to it, but before that can happen it needs cleaning up in preparation.

You will be pleased to know that our Hydro installation is complete and this gives us almost unlimited access to water for next year and the future. A considerable effort was expended from the executive and many members in getting this in place. Our thanks to Ken Blackburn for acting as the project manager,  leading and getting the sparky side of things sorted.

We just have to look at utilising this now and to repair and develop the old watering system to make the track a whole summer enjoyable riding experience.

We have many plans for next year, from new and extra event plans, modifications to the track,  the watering  system and a dedicated bike wash area.

Thanks for everyones efforts thru the past year and lets look forward to developing and taking our facility to the next level.

Thanks to all our Execs help and efforts into getting our Fall double header sorted.

The weather was relatively kind to us on the Saturday and a good weekend of Moto Cross was had by all.

Only casualty was Zac Mix who dislocated his shoulder, but I believe he is now doing well.

We had lots of flaggers and help for the weekend which made the event the easiest MotoCross I have ever been involved in to run like clockwork.

Dean Tipper, Mark and Colton McClean prepared a fantastic track with some new and exciting features.

The Alligator back was  well received and held up to the weekends riding incredibly well.

Only downer was a low turn out of riders, we have possible solutions for that for next year.

Our next event of note is the AGM on the Monday 28th of November at Banners in Campbell River. We are always looking for new blood to help run the track and events.  If you can bring a positive attitude, you can work well as a team player and can commit to helping consistently throughout the next year then we would like to see you at the AGM.

Also on November the 5th is the Banquet at Port Albernie, see the Port Albernie MotoCross site for more and upto date details.

Everything is in place for this weekend.  Slight modification to the track around the back sandy section and a damn good groom by Mark McClean and Dean Tipper will be evident.

Everyone will need to walk the track and get an idea of where the changes are before you ride.

As you walk the track please pick up and remove any rocks that are  lying around, throw them well clear so we never see them again.

There is some soft sections at the moment. If the weather holds this should dry out well, fingers crossed.

The pot luck is well underway, we now have roast potatoes and gravy being provided by the catering company. Please bring anything you would like to see added to your culinary plate.

The last pot luck we held was extremely good, I am in need of a few calories as are some other members of the Exec, except for Tim anyway.

If you can bring your own pot type plates and metal  kfs, this will save wastage and recycling.

The easy ups and table setup will be opposite the bleachers, their will be lighting and a big bonfire in the bottom section by the big table fence.

We have 6 new speakers coming in to complete our PA system and this will give us almost a surround system for your enjoyment !

This weekend we also want people to take their own garbage away with them, please leave the place as clean as you would expect to find it.

Please note that the track is CLOSED until warm ups on Saturday, there are no exceptions.

The usual rules will apply, use the official posted route to the start gate, only first gear and walking pace in the spectator/pit areas.

No machines should be started before 08:00.

Make sure you attend the riders meet and when your race is finished leave the track by the first exit  just before the bottom table.

We will be having several new flaggers this weekend, please take care during your race, use some savvy and care and we will have a successful and injury free weekend.

Please remember that these events do not just happen, an incredible amount of behind the scenes work goes in to a race, we ask for your co-operation and participation to make it a great one.

 Happy Racing.

Fall Series Update PDF Print E-mail
Written by Paul Wilkinson
Monday, 03 October 2011 11:58

Saturday and Sunday the 8/9th October will be our Fall series round of the VIMX Fall race series. We have been busy installing our water pump Hydro installation in readiness for this weekend. This has been a huge task with Ken Blackburn spearheading us to completion. Thanks Ken for all of your efforts and knowledgable input.

Has it happens it looks like water will be the last thing we need, but you never know. Two dry days in succession makes our track into a dust bowl. At the moment it is perfect.

There will be a couple of track layout changes so everyone will need to walk the track and refamiliarise them selves as the changes will be significant.

This weekend is the Thanksgiving weekend so we will be having a pot luck on the Saturday evening.

Bring along anything eatable to fit in with the feast be it food, drink and equipment such as seats, foldup tables, gazebo/easy ups, food warmers etc as you can. We will be providing two turkeys, cooked,  paper plates, cups, kfs and paper towel.

We will also have a big bonfire to huddle or dry off as required.

More info will be published as known.
