Everyone will be pleased to know that we are all the proud owners of a new well, well our first well actually. 239 ft deep, which is pretty deep, but we look to have between 50-90 gph. We now need to get it finished and plumbed in to make us self sufficient. We will be looking for help to construct a well house and install pumps and plumbing. If you have expertise in these areas please get in touch. |

Congratulations to our own Dusty Klatt MX 1 Champion 2010 from Campbell River. Dusty has shown himself to be a worthy champion, overcoming a couple of DNF's and having an awesome last race to clinch the championship.
Well done Dusty from us all at CRMXA and VIMX. |

The Exec have been pretty busy just lately, getting our lease sorted for the next 25 years and making plans for our next improvements to the facility. This week we have started to lay new material from the bridge to Suzuki corner. Ed Allen was up there at 06:00 Monday morning prepping the ground for the drop from Wacor.
What we have now is a clay based material that will form a base layer. We are now in the process of covering that with a top dressing that will remain workable and erodable without breaking through to the rocky crap underneath.
If you go up to the track now you will find that from the bridge and up to Suzuki corner is blocked off. You must turn left at the bridge barricade then immediatly turn right up and over the bridge.
Please do not ride on the new material, it is not yet ready. Hopefully it will be by this weekend.
We are also in the process of updating our watering system and availablity. We will be looking for help in completing this in the next couple of weeks so stay tuned for more news.
EXTRA RACE
We will be putting on our delayed extra fun race the week after our Fall event. This will be Saturday 25th September. Signing on will be at 12:00 pm with practice at 1:00 pm then race at 2:00pm.
Classes and more details to follow, but there will be a Trail Bike class and over 50 race. Again the idea is to bring in inexperienced riders who are keen to have a go, but without the full expence of a full blown race day. Hopefully the bug will then bite a few. Entry will be pre-enter, by down loading the entry form and sending in your entry. Entry is limited to the first 100. More details will follow very shortly. |

Nanaimo Motocross Association Riding School
We know it's a bit short notice but..The NMA is planning a Riding School at the Wastelands Motocross Park this Saturday, August 21st from 10am through 4pm. We've been tentatively planning this for a while but with the extremely hot weather and the track maintenance activities we've been putting it off. With the weather forecasted to be cooler this weekend and this being the last non-race event weekend before the Fall Series we're going for it.
2010 Canadian National MX1 Champion Dusty Klatt will be conducting an Advanced Level School oriented towards experienced Pro, Intermediate and faster Junior level riders.
Ex-Pro rider Bruce Donaldson will be conducting a Beginner and Junior Level School oriented towards both new, Beginner and Junior level riders.
Both schools will consist of morning and afternoon sessions with a short lunch break. Topics to be covered include the following:
- Training
- Bike Setup
- Starts
- Accelerating/Braking
- Cornering
There is a maximum of 15 riders per school so please sign-up now to avoid disappointment. The cost is $150 for the Advanced Level School and $75 for the Beginner and Junior Level School.
Given the short notice please contact Jaye Pugh at (250) 751-1769 or Dave Barnes at (250) 588-9032 by this Thursday, August 19th at 6pm to register. If not available please leave a voice message with your name, school level and phone number. Please note that given the short notice, if we don't get a minimum of 10 riders per school we may need to cancel.

Our proposed race on the 21st August has been cancelled, for several reasons, one being the heat and possible fire risk. New date for an extra race in the Fall will be announced shortly, this will not be an extra Fall Championship race. |
